The committee met seven times during the year to do research, extract old documents from the scrap books where they had been filed, copy them, and file them by subject. In the scrap books they were by date. This also includes a series of The Bulletin which is of an odd size that precludes binding into volumes. We believe we have found and dismantled the last scrap book. We are also collecting current information as we go.
As the new chair of Building & Grounds, Edna Johnston researched the files to get up to speed, a good use of the archives. She found a 1970 memo stating that our building plans are missing from the city construction records. This confirms my research of about three years ago.
In December, we started a long-range project to record all gifts and bequests. This project will be worked on when we do not have more current matters to occupy us. The original record book burned in the fire.
