As of April 2007, the church payroll is now being processed through Paychex. This now allows for staff to receive payroll through direct deposit and will ensure that all payroll taxes and filings are processed in a timely fashion.

Also, in June St. Thomas' retained Garner Gore and Associates LLP to perform bookkeeping services. Nicole Garner is currently the key person providing services to the Parish and she may be reached at bookkeeper@stthomasdc.org. She has done a great job at keeping the books and assisting St. Thomas' to convert to a fund accounting version of Quick Books which will allow better tracking of the Capital Projects Fund and other restricted funds.

Parish budget amendments were approved at the August vestry meeting. Most of the changes reallocated budget line items to update the budget based upon year-to-date activity. Overall, expenses were slightly below budget for the year, but pledge income was also below budget for the year. All parishioners are encouraged to ensure that they are current with their pledges. The Parish plans to send out pledge statements in the near future.
