Foyer Dinner sign-up ended on Sunday evening and assignments went out Monday evening. One person in your group has been assigned to call you and help come up with a date for your group's first dinner. No doubt you've all been contacted and have begun to zero in on a night in October for your first gathering!
Foyer Dinner groups have been made smaller this year. No more groups of eleven! We want everyone to feel that they can host a meal even in the smallest of studios. Please no restaurants! Your homes are a window on your lives and a great starting point for conversation. We have eight dinner groups with an average size of 6 people.
As in the past, the series will consist of four meals through early-to mid-January. About every four weeks. Every three weeks in a pinch. Most groups will plan their subsequent dinner during each of these gatherings; so please bring your day planners or Blackberries! It's easier to zero in on a date in person than by e-mail. The next Foyer Dinner series will begin in February with sign-up just about when you are having your fourth dinner in January. All the more reason to sharpen those planning skills and clear those schedules!
Foyer Dinners have proven to be a wonderful way to meet fellow parishioners. Joining the series is a joy and a commitment. You're part of a parish that's building community. Please make these a priority and attend each gathering. Your absence takes away from the group. And remember, Nancy Lee, John & Kay are looking for some free meals!
