A users' guide for Episcopalians
Unique to Anglicanism, the Book of Common Prayer is a collection of worship services that all worshipers in an Anglican church follow. It’s called “common prayer” because we all pray it together, around the world. The first Book of Common Prayer was compiled in English by Thomas Cranmer in the 16th Century, and since then has undergone many revisions for different times and places.

Thank you to Jean-Luc & Ivan Santos-Sansfaute for providing the goodies for coffee hour on Feb. 10! Their names were inadvertently left off of the schedule last week. And thank you to Alice Elder for provisioning us on Feb. 17! Parishioners are always encouraged to assist with coffee hour by bringing in muffins, cookies, or other baked goods. A sign-up sheet is available on the bulletin board in the downstairs hallway.

A users' guide for Episcopalians
Outline for instruction in the Christian faith presented in a question and answer format. The Catechism appears in the BCP as "An Outline of the Faith" (pp. 845-862). Although the Catechism serves as a commentary on the creeds, it is not intended to be a complete statement of belief and practice. It provides a brief summary of the church's teaching. The Catechism is intended to serve as a point of departure for discussion by the catechist (lay or ordained) with those who seek to understand the beliefs and practices of the Episcopal Church.

It's pretty hard to go wrong with a pot luck supper and election returns, but it sure can't happen without all many hands coming together to make a wonderful evening. Thank you to everyone who participated in our Super Fat Tuesday Annual Mardi Gras Potluck dinner. More than 50 parishioners came together to make a wonderful evening. Special thanks go to John Carter and Louie Stewart for a lot of behind the scenes work and for Nate and Benny for making election results stream onto the wall! Thanks also to everyone who set up, cleaned up, a brought food and drink to make it the perfect Shrove Tuesday!

During the 11am worship service on March 2, the parish will recognize all those who have joined the parish in the last year. New members are those who have become significantly involved with the parish in some way -- attending regularly, joining a committee or foyer dinner, making a financial pledge, or connecting enough to consider yourself a member. During the service we will take a short moment to recognize you. Please be there!

The Inclusion team invites everyone who is new to the parish to a lunch designed especially for you on Sunday, March 9 at 12:30pm. We will provide lunch, some good conversation, a chance to meet other new folks, and the chance to meet the leaders of our parish. This is a great way to learn about the church and to get more connected! RSVP to Jeremy.
