Godly Play: No Single Way to Learn

Styles of learning vary as much as creative gifts. Some people learn most effectively when they see information written down, others when they hear it. Some people are kinetic; they need to move their bodies to learn. Some learn most effectively by working in small groups, others by concentrating on their own. There is no one proper way to learn; there are only individual styles of learning. Godly Play respects those differences.

stephensmeg.jpgIt is said that the art of handwritten correspondence is in decline, but St. Thomas' parishioner Meg Stephens is doing her part to keep the practice alive. For over four years, she has faithfully pursued a ministry of writing personal notes to parishioners who are ill, experiencing a family crisis, or simply in need of a lift in spirit.

The committee met seven times during the year to do research, extract old documents from the scrap books where they had been filed, copy them, and file them by subject. In the scrap books they were by date. This also includes a series of The Bulletin which is of an odd size that precludes binding into volumes. We believe we have found and dismantled the last scrap book. We are also collecting current information as we go.
