This ministry coordinates the non-liturgical fellowship activities within the Church, from coffee hour gatherings after services to dinners and social functions and events that engage parishioners and neighbors in our community. Outdoor activities such as canoe or ski trips are organized through this ministry as well. More than simply a “social” committee, this ministry works to provide opportunities for fellowship, establishes a culture of radical hospitality and promotes a spirit of welcome and God’s generous abundance to the world we reach out to in love. The Foyer Dinner Team, a subgroup of this ministry, coordinates our semi-annual rounds of Foyer Dinners – informal gatherings where 6-8 people share a meal together, getting to know each other outside of Sunday worship. Another subgroup, the Art & Spirituality team, is charged with creating opportunities for the members of St. Thomas’ and the neighborhood to encounter God in the arts, both in traditional and non-traditional media. This is St. Thomas’ innovative ministry…creating new and nontraditional ways to integrate art, culture and worship.

You are invited to a party/cookout on June 21st at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Louie Stewart and John Carter. This gathering is for parishioners who are forty years of age or over. We will do the meats and you bring the sides. We hope that this will lead to the formation of a new group of parishioners who can get together from time-to-time to socialize and share our stories. Please let us know if you will be attending by emailing us.

Saturday, April 26th saw the third annual "Rites Of Spring Gala" for St. Thomas' Parish. There were many in attendance and the HRC facilities were wonderfully suited to our needs. I love events like this where you get to see everyone let their hair down (and it was down, believe me!). There are many great pictures taken by Louie Stewart in our online gallery.

Plan to be part of our Second Annual Blessing of Couples living out their lives in committed relationship which will be held in our park on June 8th at 6:30pm. For those members who are new to the parish, the participants last year found the service to be a moving and affirming celebration. This was true for both the couples and their friends who attended to be a part of this special day. It reaffirmed the importance of our spiritual community in our lives and provided us with a great opportunity share our radical hospitality with our guests.
