St. Thomas' will be celebrating Capital Pride Weekwith a week full of Pride-related activities. The week kicks off on Sunday, June 8th with our second Service for the Affirmation of Couples to recognize and bless couples in the community living in committed and loving relationships, gay and straight. The celebration is part of the congregation's ministry and outreach to families of all types living in the city's vibrant Dupont Circle neighborhood.
On Saturday, June 14th, the Right Reverend John Bryson Chane, Bishop of Washington will join St. Thomas’ and several other local Episcopal churches in marching in the annual Washington Gay Pride Parade. Prior to the parade, St. Thomas' will be hosting a pot-luck picnic in our Parish Park. St. Thomas’ Parish will also have a booth in the Pride festival on June 15th.
This year, for the first time, we're opening up the funding by listing our expenses and allowing Parishioners to make direct contributions to fund individual projects. You can also support St. Thomas' Parish during Pride by buying a teeshirt from our online shop. All teeshirt sales this month will go to support Pride.
