Annual Parish Meeting, Sunday March 6th: Something Old, Something New

Each year we gather as a parish body to discuss and approve the annual parish budget, vote on and welcome new vestry members and hear a little from our fellow members who make our parish programs possible. On Sunday, March 6th we did all this and more!

Following the budget discussion and election those in attendance participated in a small group discussions to explore their Vision and Hopes for St. Thomas in coming years. Parishioners are asked to pray, meditate and eventually share their thoughts and ideas on the following:

1. How will your own personal spiritual life have changed because of your participation in the life of St. Thomas' 5 years from now?

2. Describe the difference of the experience of a newcomer to St. Thomas' 5 years from now.

3. How will St. Thomas' have an impact on our neighborhood and the Washington, DC community 5 years from now?

4. How are you living out our calling to: your own life, the St. Thomas community and greater DC community?

This small-group piece of the Annual Meeting is PART ONE of parish feedback that Vestry and parish program/cluster leaders will discuss on their retreat on the Vision/Mission for St. Thomas' 2011 and beyond in April. If you could not attend, we encourage you to use the new feedback blog located on the Building Committee page of the St. Thomas' web site to share your ideas.

Thank you for your participation. Your voice is critical in shaping the mission and ministry of the St. Thomas' community for the next five to 10 years.
