Sacred Grounds, a monthly event held at St. Thomas' (Episcopal) Parish, invites Christians and those exploring their spirituality in their 20s and 30s to come and socialize with people from around the city. We always have plenty of free food and drink.
WORSHIP
We gather at 7pm before Sacred Grounds for a Taizé service led by lay members in their 20's and 30's. Taizé mainly consists of music, singing (chanting) and meditative prayer. For more information on the Taizé fellowship you can visit http://www.taize.fr/
ART
Each month we welcome a local artist to display their artwork in the parish parlor. The artwork ranges from paintings to ceramics with a variety of different themes. If you are interested in displaying your art please contact Dustin Cole.
COMMUNITY
Sacred Grounds takes place between the hours of 8 pm to midnight on the first Friday of the month. We share in a diverse community and welcome everyone regardless of their spiritual journey, beliefs, sexuality, ethnicity, etc. You are welcome to join us at any point during the evening. Many people stop by after dinner or before they join friends for a night on the town. Please feel free to bring a friend and stop by. All are welcome!
Contact Dustin Cole at 202/441-0907 for more information. The church is at 1772 Church St, NW, Washington DC 20036, two blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro (Red line). Free Parking is available next to the church in the alley.
