Isaiah had foreseen the day when God would say: "I am about to create new heavens and a new earth." Paul knew that if Jesus has been raised from the dead, God's kingdom is at hand. And on this Holy Day, Mary Magdalene heard herself called by name, and went and told all the others the most dangerous Good News of the Resurrection: It is no longer merely a promise. "I have seen the Lord."

The Good News of Easter is that this dangerous love of Christ is alive in our midst, creating a new heavens and a new earth- calling us each by name. So it is with joy that I, like Mary Magdalene, can say: "The Lord is Risen!" And with the same joy you can respond with your voices as well as your lives: "The Lord is Risen Indeed."
