The thing about following Jesus is that it is the deepest form of safety -- even when it seems dangerous, it is the deepest form of safety. Not the safety of being warm and cozy, but the safety of knowing that wherever you walk, the foundation is firm. My granddaughter is into rock climbing. Following Jesus is like scaling a wall, but knowing that the rope that’s holding you is very strong and the hand holding the rope is absolutely reliable.
A poet wrote this about Jesus:
He is the Way
Follow Him through the Land of Unlikeness;
You will see rare beasts, and have unique adventures.
Follow Him through the Land of Unlikeness; You will see rare beasts, and have unique adventures.
Follow me. It’s an adventure. It’s your adventure, and you can do it wherever you are. Listen to your life. Listen in your prayer . Come and see.
