Stewardship 2010: Sharing Your Talents | Print |  E-mail

It's that time of the year again. It's written about in our bulletins and spoken of during announcements. It even warranted an entire sermon of devotion. Yep, you guessed it, our call to Stewardship. Time to whip out the checkbooks and bite the bullet to keep our church alive. Stewardship; however, is not a once a year event. Along with your fiscal contribution, St. Thomas' also needs donations of your time and talents to our Committees and events that make our Parish life thrive!

St. Thomas' practices a "Progressive Spirituality Centered on Christ's Call for Prophetic Hospitality and Servant Leadership." We, as a congregation, believe that church is more than a Sunday morning commitment. At St. Thomas', there is a critical need to fill the call to Stewardship. We strongly urge you to take the plunge and really get involved within the Parish community.

Opportunities to get involved at St. Thomas' include the following Ministries & Programs:

Education & Formation- Help organize educational opportunities for all parishoners; including Sunday activities before and after worship, events throughout the week, and special seasonal programs!

Worship- Join one of this ministry's teams: Altar Guild, Ushers, Chalicers and Acolytes!

Parish Life- Help coordinate our non-liturgical fellowship activities within the Church; such as, coffee hour and larger social functions!

Inclusion- Work to further this ministry's goal of welcoming and incorporation of our congregation and community!

Pastoral Care- Actively participate in the provision of support to members of the parish and loved ones who are sick, bereaved, in need of counseling, or who have any other need!

Outreach- Serve as the hands and feet for the parish, expanding its ministry of social justice and community outreach to both our city and the world beyond!

Stewardship- Help organize educational programs throughout the year, preaching and worship that focuses on stewardship and opportunities to examine our approaches to personal and corporate stewardship!

Finance- Work to develop, manage and report the budget for the Church and the individual ministries, teams and/or committees!

Buildings & Grounds- Help ensure the upkeep, preservation and restoration of the Church, the Rectory, the Park and all the surrounding grounds!

Communications- Join the committee that ensures that the activities, policies and programs of the Church are communicated in a concise and consistent manner!

Archives- Help St. Thomas' Parish collect and organize information about current and past parishoners and the history of the parish since its founding!

As members of St. Thomas' congregation, we are blessed with the dedication and devotion of so many talented parishoners. At the same time, we know that there are some talents that we have yet had the opportunity to tap into. Please give St. Thomas' the same chance to celebrate your gifts that the church most readily offers for you to receive.
