Dennis Hobbs, Jeff Franke and Jeff Kibler make homemade bread to be used during the Eucharist at St. Thomas' Parish. You've probably noticed that for quite a while now we've had home-baked bread for Eucharest. What you probably don't know is that it's very easy to make. In fact, it only takes an hour and fifteen minutes to make enough bread for two Sundays. The bread we use at St. Thomas' has six ingredients: whole wheat flour, oil, honey, water, baking powder and salt. the only unusual implements required are a cookie sheet and a rolling pin. This could almost be done in an easy bake oven, but the big one in your kitchen will work just fine.

I'll be bringing the recipe to church for the next few weeks and will be gently recruiting people who would like to try their hand at this. It's easy, it's actually fun, and it's a great way to contribute to the life of the congregation without a long-term commitment.
